Tips for making delicious thin omelets in a cast iron frying pan
Before we give you tips on how to make a delicious thin omelet in a cast iron frying pan, it is important to note that if the cast iron frying pan is not preheated properly, it will tend to stick .
Therefore , the trick is to preheat for 2 minutes, then turn the heat to low , add oil and let it mix, and then add the beaten eggs .
The second tip is to make sure that when you add oil to the frying pan, you spread it thoroughly not only on the bottom but also around the edges .
In particular, when cooking tamagoyaki (rolled omelet), the beaten egg will come into contact with the edges, so be sure to swirl the frying pan to spread the oil evenly around the edges to prevent the egg from sticking.
Once preheating is complete and the oil has been spread evenly throughout the frying pan, add the beaten eggs.
(I used a Ductile Pan 18 in this example, but the process is the same for other sizes of pans.)
Once you add the egg it will cook immediately, so once it's cooked to your liking, try gently peeling the egg off with chopsticks.
If the oil is well absorbed, it will peel off cleanly like in the photo above.
Then serve it on a plate and it's done.
Generally, making a thin omelet in a cast iron frying pan is somewhat difficult and of course it takes some practice, but once you're able to do it, you'll get a delicious thin omelet!
By the way, Iwatetsu cast iron frying pans go well with thin omelets.
By the way, Iwatetsu Ironware's cast iron frying pan "Ductile Series" goes well with thin omelets.
This is because the Ductile series is treated with a special technology that makes it non-stick and non-burning.
In addition, it is not treated with fluorine at all, and its weight is about one-third that of conventional ironware.
